Default Courtesy Lights

The courtesy lights on my 88 Corvette will work when I turn the headlight **** on the dash, but they will not come on when I open either door. The door ajar light comes on when I open either door. So, I think that the door switches are good. Is there something else that I should be looking at to get the courtesy lights to work?

Mine acted up briefly when I washed the car... this only happened lately and it was a couple times only. My door ajar light would flash as well when I would turn a corner or accelerate fast. I have no idea why, it only happened after I washed the car. Maybe it was because it was wet, I have no clue. Does it happen all the time for you?

Corvette Central sells the timer or you can bypass it. Use the search engine, you will find lots of threads, some with bypass and repair info.

You most likely need to replace your Courtesy Light Delay Timer. You can get one on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-...spagenameZWDVW

Here is where the relay is located under the passenger side dash.
