The recent posts about steering wheels and CF dashes goaded me into two down and dirty pics of my latest time and money waster. Pulled the entire dash out to clean up all the wiring, new bulbs and polish grounds. The HVAC control panel was rebuilt with new switches and a vacuum controller from Chebby. The old steering wheel has seen too much service so out it went in favor of a D shaped Grant. Yes, Grant but stamped Momo,go figure. THis gives you an idea what the cf dash looks like. Finally got around to getting the Corbeau seats in. For the pureists, yep, thats a carpet dash cover. I'm not impressed either but it helps big time with the Florida sun. The stuffed bumble bee, the vanity plate reads BMBL BEE, the bee is a present from the grand kids. And last, i upgraded the 85 ECM to an 89 and am burning my own chips. When I am happy with the tune the ECM will go home to clear the floorboards. Again, these are quick pics to show one guys work. I'll post some better ones when it is done.
How do the seats fit into the car compared to the old ones? More importantly how do you fit into the seats compared to the old ones? ( Head room, your butt, and overall feel? Did you have sport seats origionally? They seem to sit lower than origional. I had my origionals redone and now they sit too high. I want something lower!!!
They are super tight. Very little space between the seats and the car.In fact the seats must be reversed, that is the recliner leaver placed on the inside. Outside it hits the seat belt winder. Yes, the Corbeaus are lower. I am 6 ft at 185 lbs and fit very well. There is not as much padding as the standard seats that came out so I can't comment on long rides. I do believe the car will be harder to get out of. Hope not. Am having a second knee replaced in June and don't need any more trouble.
