My passenger door panel keeps popping off the upper steel retainer which runs parallell to the window squeegee channel. Are there supposed to be some sort of 'thing' that goes over the metal lips to aid in door panel retention? Like a clip or some sort?? The panel acts like it wants to stay put, but the metal ledge just does not grab it good enough.
The ribs that hold the door panels shape get tiny hairline cracks in them. Get some "J-B Weld" adhesive and apply a generous coating to the ribs. Rap the panel with some tape to hold it tightly in shape until it dries. It's been holding for me without problems for years.
Try taking the door panel off and check it for cracks. I had some cracks in mine and I used some stuff called automotive goop to repair it. You can buy automotive goop at Autozone.
I don't like to say this but "do a search", there was a forum member who used zip ties and drilled small holes in the ribs inside the door panel. He had step by step instructions and pics.
