Having my car painted. They said there would be over spray on the windows and I will need to use Brillo Pad 00 ?
Not sure what it is have any info ?
Got my focus painted awhile back and i was told the same thing its the metal dishwashing thing sometime used... I would grab a nice rag get some eagle one 1 nano wax and scrub away thats how i did it... And also I just remembered the nano wax clear stuff is what you use for your black trim aswell its the best stuff out there keeps it looking fresh! and hydrates it 2
00 may be too gritty. Try 0000 steel wool (you can find it a t Lowe's or Home Depot) and some Bon-Ami cleanser.
Dilute some of the cleanser in water and dip the steel wool in it. Rub the steel wool gently going in straight lines over the window and that should remove the overspray and any waterspots. Keep rinsing with a garden hose so that the small particles of the steel woll do not get lodged anywhere.

Maybe you should pay $10 more for a better paint job at a quality /professional shop instead of using the "Rattle Can" guy and you'll not have overspray to worry about???
I've never had a paint job that showed ANY overspray when the job was finished

I guess you never painted a vette the "right way" Windows are down. Every thing is taped there is small holes that can not be taped. Minimal over spray from molding holes, mirror holes, door handles.
Good to take molding , mirror , door 's off for a proper job.

Live and learn! I didn't know that. I had a '66 coupe, 2 '70 LT-1s (one a top flite NCRS conv) and an '89 & 91 C4 coupe all painted same color without all the things done that you describe.
BEAST2 was a total repaint; color change from green to Viper Sunshine yellow with some pearl metallic added. All of these Vettes have after market repaints and can be seen on my web page link in signature.
I don't know how JVD had BEAST2 painted but you've opened my eyes. I'll ask him how BEAST2 was painted next time we talk.
Spray glass cleaner on first and then scrape with razor blade. Takes just minutes.
This is the ticket right here. Works great for scraping tint off windows, too.

Done C2s and 3s this way. Never painted a C4 tho.
I'll let you know. I'm about to do a four stage on the Vette by the end of the year. Candy Brandywine with ghost flames. White is starting to bug me, and I never did a four stage before. I figured the Vette was a good canidate
Guess I should have also said when using super fine on the windows I still use window cleaner (windex etc.) along with the steel wool.
I wouldn't use steel wool on a dry windshield.
Why not? I've done it many times , no scratches! It's great for removing water spots also! I use it dry. Cars have tempered glass. Berry, berry hard to scratch. I use stainless steel wool, #0000. No rust issues from the droppings then.
With all due respect the safest suggestion I have read above is the window cleaner and a straight edge razor blade.
What is easier is to put a little Lacquer Thinner on a rag and wipe the over spray away.
When I had my detail shop I would have customers come in all the time with some type of over spray on an entire car. There were times someone would pull in and say the over spray just happened. I would pull the car in the second they arrived and after testing a small area with the thinner I would wipe the whole car down with it. I would charge them $20 for the chemical wipe down and a car wash and sent them on their way.
If you use the thinner as soon as you get the car back it will come off easier. Don't soak the rag and watch so you don't6 drop on the paint. If BC/CC is being used a drip is no big deal, just have a moist rag ready to wipe it off.
