Took the 85 to town this AM. Coming home I met a young man riding a bike. When I was about 50 yards from him he began giving me a big and saying: "Nice Car.". I do fairly well at lip reading so I knew what he was saying. So, I guess the wave doesn't have to be from another Corvette but from anyone who appreciates a fine car. I should add I got a wave from a C6 last week. Had to run over his foot to get it but at least he waved.
I just had to make a run to a Krogers. Came back out of the store and found 3 young grocery cart attendents looking at my Vette. Even got a wave from a C6, another C4 and a guy in a Porsche in the 6 mile round trip. Beautiful day today, everybody is out driving around.

Something you, muffin, might appreciate;
I get waves all the time from the nieghborhood kiddies whenever I have the Corvette out.
I'm talking about the 5 to 7 y/o boys , who just admire a shiny looking car, or pump their arms when a big rig passes by. Kids waving, giving the thumbs-up to grandpa (me), cruising the local streets.
Sort of makes me smile passing by, and they don't give a second look when I'm in the truck or the van.
You know, that's the ONLY wave that matters to me.

Last summer, I was finishing up waxing the 'Vette, and a young boy and his dad walked by on the street. The little boy tugged his dad's hand and made him come back to our driveway, and said, "Daddy, look at that shiny car!!" - I was grinning from ear to ear.
PLRX-I also ride a Harley to work a lot, 70 mile each way commute, when on the bike, get waves, or in the car, same thing-I will start "cross waving"-see what happens!
Problem is when I go by a c6 going in the other direction and wave and don't get one back I want to do a u turn and go drang him from his car but I keep going straight, but I think it.
jl, what HOG you riding? I got a 2008 Blue ROCKER C and a 2007 Ultra with hack. Love BOTH of them. RIDE SAFE!
What is a 'Rocker'? HD frame and engine or an S&S on a paughco frame or some combo there of? I do like the awning tie downs too. You got a toy hauler?
Mike

This grandpa gets waves from lots of people in my daily driver, (C4). When on the road I even get a High Five from grandmas when they see the old codger who's driving it. With that in mind; Who needs a 12 sec. ET?
78pacer....Mike, yes the ROCKER C is ALL HARLEY. new softail model of 08. Rides nice. 240 back tire. Its harleys CUSTOM bike....raked front end too.
yes, the tie downs are for my toyhauler. a 2008 cougar 310srx fifth wheel. Have to have something to haul my bike down to Florida for a couple months in the winter!

Back when I had the '99 SS, I came out of Mejiers one day and saw the shopping cart kid had just stopped pushing the carts, dropped his arms and was saying "wow" when I walked up behind him. I know it was just a teenager rounding up the shopping carts, but I still felt good all day.
However my recent $1488 acquisition seems to rally the locals to wave at me all the time?
When it was primered and sanded people ignored me...then I broke out the paint brush and rustoleum and people began to wave even more...I have since added one more coat and the appearance is good.
Want waves? Buy a surplus Oregon State Police Interceptor!
Not really the wave...but I went to the drag strip Friday night, and after my last run I was sitting in the lot waiting for my buddy, and 3 kids ran up an asked for my autograph!
I guess they thought my car was exotic or something, so I gave them a few revs and some Sharpie action and they were happy . Man, I hope that's my kid someday!
