corvette with no title

I see an 84 in the paper for 2k with no title. Any risk that I should be aware of if I decided to pick up to part out?

Maybe run a check through the DMV making sure its legit would be an option? Just a thought!

Best you check with your state's DMV. It varies from state to state. In some states it's against the law for a seller to sell without a title or some form of DMV docs making the sale legal; all of this is to prevent sales of stolen and chop shop cars. Don'r waste your time unless seller gets legal docs to take your $$ in exchange for the car. It's seller's responsibility...even if it's a "totaled" from a junk yard. This is probably not the best place to get advice you can and be assured is in compliance with the law of your state.

In ILL both parties can go into the dmv and a new title will be issused assuming the owner is the actual owner. I bought over 2000 cars last year and get titles for everyone of them. Its not worth getting caught up over a car trust me have seen tons of people get burned.

Even if you part it out, you are at risk for buying a car that you cannot prove is legally yours and the real owner just might catch up with you with the police right behind him. No title, no sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
