I replaced them !!
My biggest turn off towards the Sumitomos, is the crappy fit of tire to lip of rim.
You can see the backside of lip and all the tire machine jaw marks. My BFG's didn't show it, my goodyear eagles didn't show it, but the damn Sumi's do.
Still have my G-Force KDWS on the front, and now have swapped out the Sumis for G-Force KD. No more stinking backside of lip action.
Oh, and I got back the width I lost when I installed the Sumi's.
A real tire that fits the rim right !!
More width
Time to wash them and install them.
My Sumitomo HTRZ 255/45R17s don't have the rim fit issue that you have shown. I always wondered what it could be that you were complaining about regarding the rim-fit. Now I understand.
Mine have what appears to be sort of a bead protector or a protruding lip that extends outward and around the rim so the edge isn't really exposed. The lip is wider than the rim surface at least on my wheels.
It almost looks like yours weren't seated fully on the rim, but it is a different tire size, so they very well could be different.

I purchased Sumitomo's a month ago, 275-40-17's, and noticed the lip exposure also...
But at least I didn't loose any width. They are the same width as my old BFG's...
