How many of you ride with the windows rolled up when the top is off? Also, does anyone use those wind deflectors that attach to the mirrors? My wife insists on keeping her window rolled up at any speed over about 30mph. It does block some wind but ruins the lines of the topless car. My dog would probably enjoy the wind and wouldn't mind if his window was down but he's dirtier than my wife so I don't let him in the car.
Have you heard of a stampede strap? If you get a hat rigged for one, your hat WILL stay on. Here is an example:
Only problem with that is when you are racing down the freeway, all of a sudden you are at a lose for air, your face is turning blue, and you pass out from strangulation!
I actually wear a baseball cap on sunny days. I never adjust it any tighter for driving and have not had any issues with it blowing off at any speed. I do wear it fairly loose and keep a military style hair cut. May be different in a vert though. From what I understand the coups can have quite a bit of buffeting (may be what's causing the loss of head gear). You might try one of those things that raises the hatch up an inch or so when you have the top off (and track down some of the wind deflectors for the mirrors).
The other advantage of the baseball cap is keeping the sun out of your eyes in addition to the sunburn. I lost a couple hats myself so I dropped my seat down lower and I try not to look up at high speeds so the wind can't get under the bill of the cap. I also tightened it up around my head too.
If you're just trying to prevent the sunburn a biker's skull cap or doo rag would work. Not the fashion statement that I care for but sunburned scalp hurts!

Take a tip from an old Indian torture.Get a leather cap and soak it before you put it on.Once it dries I guaranty it wont blow off.Best to take a few aspirin at the same time.
How difficult is it to install the rear hatch vent? I have thought of this as when I have the top on, and dont want to bother with the roof on my way to work, would be a great way to get some extra air. I wish C4s had the hood latches like the C5s do, would be so much easier!

I put on my C4 hat when I drive my 94 vert. I put a lanyard thru the back of the cap and the lanyard around my neck. Turn the lanyard around so that it hangs down my back instead of my chest. Believe me, the hat really wants to fly off at highway speeds, but it does stay on and I don't worry about losing it. Been doing this for years.

I love my hatch vent, the one I have is magnetic so the long stud just slips on, and it takes about 5 seconds for the other part to attach. Best 30 bucks I have spent on comfort, it really reduces buffeting and increases air flow.

Being feeble minded it's difficult for me to visualize the procedure outlined above. You couldn't talk a neighbor into taking a picture of you wearing said C4 hat could you?
I like the staple gun idea but usually just go with the hot glue gun. Apply bead across forehead and apply cap qickly befor it sets because you don't want to do it twice.
