Default Major Hood Release Problem

Hood won`t release. Have added zip ties in the past but still won`t release with them. Have pulled and pulled but nothing. The zip ties must be caught on something. Does anyone know a different way to get the hood opened?
Thanks

Have you tried a hood release tool (basically a piece of rod with a bend at each end) that slides into the latch area when the door is open? I know there's threads on this forum that show pics, and the tool is a snap to make. Ecklers and/or MA also sells them.

I tried using that tool and all I managed to do was scratch the hell
out of the underside of my hood. Easiest way is to remove the front tire
and the wheel wells believe it or not

After removing the tires and wheel wells what tool is needed and can you see anything or is it blind?

Maybe try your zip ties while some one is pushing down on the hood. Worth a shot.

No special tools, long flat screwdriver, and move the latch while someone lifts the hood, then on to the other side...

by the way, the zip ties can cause issue, i used picture wire and clamps to bind to the latch release wire, then some heat shrink tubing to cover the wire and handles, no issues and looks more refined than zip ties

posts #5 +8 ..while nylon zips ties will work, as i said in some subsequent post - will get brittle and break and could stretch just a bit and all your time installing this mod will have been wasted effort...

Hood is back to normal. Thanks for all the advice. Took three people about 5 minutes. I kept pulling on the release lever and two others, one at each corner pushing down hard and pulling up released one side then the other. The tie wraps were the problem. Will now go with wire, more flexible, as suggest by others.
Glad that is over with.
Thanks again.

I have been lucky enough to get mine open. After opening lubricate the cables well, lubricate the lock assembly and adjust both cables at the end near the lock. Good luck.
