Just got the 95 vette home and attempted to program the remote and no luck. I searched and read all the threads but still cannot figure out the problem.
I am not getting the flashing PKE light when i turn the key off and leave it in during programming. I think the PKE is turned off.
I turn the key to ON position and no indication in the left corner showing the PKE system indicator.
How can i turn it on?
I also check the remote and its has the click sound when i shake it. The battery is the 2450 3v battery.

I need help
Would you post the steps you used to get into programming mode? I sounds like you are not getting that far because the key fob has nothing to do with the PKE light coming on it should be far away from the car at that point.
I found I had to keep the key pushed in when I turned off to get mine to program I think the play in the cylinder was allowing the circuit to drop out. It is also possible the DIC light is burned out or your PKE module is bad. Start at the beginning are you getting it into programming mode? Your post is a little confusing

Sorry for the confusion-
1. i press the trip button twice.
2. Within 5 secs pressed the Fuel button and held dwn and the DIC displayed PKE indication and was on solid.
3. I then turn the ignition to off and left the key in. The PKE light goes out and stays off.(doesnt flash at all)
4. Went and got the FOB remote and sat in the car and no light was flashing on the DIC.
5. Removed the key from the ignition and close the drivers door, heard the doors lock and the horn sounded 1 time.
Thats it.
OK do what I said. It will take an assistant to bring the fob to you. When you turn the key off keep it pressed into the lock and see if it flashes then. Have your assistant bring the FOB into range and complete the programming. As the cylinder/pellet wears/becomes loose it may not make when you turn it off and drop out of programming mode. Mine did the same thing. that is no flash when off and 1 time activation.
Once you have sucessfully programmed it if you hold the door button until the locks cycle it will either turn it on or off depending on what state it is in. You can tell when you walk away the locks will click and the horn will beep once if it is on and nothing if not. It is good to turn it off when working on the car.

If you do get the PKE working but also do a lot of work on your car (even if it's just washing it every week) I bet you'll disable it after a while. The sound of the system constanly locking and unlocking as you walk around the car will drive you nuts.
I know this is very old, but by chance, did you ever get this figured out? I have the same problem with my '93. I can get the PKE light to come on, but when I turn the key off, the light goes off instead of flashes.
My FOB battery on my 1995 has been in service for 2 1/2 years and no signs of impeding failure. I use the system all the time and disarm it in the garage.

The battery isn't drained by being "on" or "off'. It is drained when the fob moves, whether it is in your pocket, in the ignition, whatever. The quickest way to drain the battery is to drive the car to work and keep the keys in your pocket all day.
