I'm attempting to put the '90 back together and I'm encountering some problems. First while trying to install the alternator/airpump there is a big gap where one of the bolts go through. I assume something is supposed to go in there but I don't know what. Here are a couple pics to show what I mean.
Also, I have a bracket that I currently do not know where it goes. It's the one circled in the pic. Any idea where this goes?
...just put my son's 85 back together, and i don't know it if the 90 is configured the same way, but it looks like you might need, and i don't know the correct term for this but, a one piece stud with a bolt head in the center part of the threads. that way, you mount and tighten the power steering pump/bracket, and then the smog pump bracket. ...just my best guess. can't think of where the bracket goes - ??? hope this helps...
Knooger, there is a stud that goes in that bolt hole. Has a nut made on it. Then the second bracket and another nut. I dont think that black rod installs that way though. My 87 has one that goes back to the intake. No clue on the one in the lower pic. Must not be there on my 87.
In picture number one there is a bolt that has a second nut that goes between the aluminum bracket and block piece (works as a spacer). Then a nut tightens down onto the steel bracket.
