What is that dirt/oil/grease in the carpet or is the pile burnt?

No it's just worn out i guess .. was like that when i bought the car... it's pretty much all there is on the car.
The rest of the interior is like new and the paint on the car is 9 of 10.

Dunno if those pics can prove it but:

Built the exhaust myself and theres a few tunes on it, SR intake with all the other standard "blowing engines" upgrades.. guessing 400-450hp.

That was off topic!.. again thanks for the help

If the mat you are talking about is the same as the one I have it doesn't go over the wheel wells. It just covers the flat part of the rear.

You may be better off taking it to an interior shop and having them just cover the bad places.

If I get out and get batteries for my camera today I will take a pic of my mat so you can see what I am talking about.

Not what he is talking about.
Click on the link in his second post.

The worn area in the pic is what he is talking about.

In his original post he asked about using a 'mat' to cover his problem. I was trying to let him see what the cargo mats would actually cover and that it would not fix the problem he has.

Unless there is an option I have not found his alternatives are to purchase a rear carpet set or have an interior shop make replacement carpet for just that area.

I had my carpet and seats re-done in Tijuana, Mexico for $180 material + labor. Here are the pics:

I changed all my carpeting, my back area was probably even worse that yours. I do not have much car experience but me and a friend were able to pretty easily make a quick job of it. It takes a few hours to do it right if you've never done it before. It will be easy though, just buy a nice pre molded rear carpet to make the job easy. Some fresh screws would help. And if you were considering after market speakers now would be a good time to change them.

The original interior was in bad shape, it was brown and destroyed by the sun and water which resulted in green blotches everywhere. I had to change literally everything inside. The only original pieces left are the seat belts and the side sill panels.

I agree !!
Buy the rear mass backed carpet set from Willcox, that should fix it.
