I need to replace valve stem seals on my 86e and thought I would do springs and 1.5 roller rockers while I'm in there. This is stock except for y-cat delet and high flow main cat.
So do I need 1.5 3/8 self aligning rockers ? and also what kind of springs should I go with?
I suggest 1.5s on the exh with new stock springs and 1.6s on the int with Comp Cams 981 springs.
The exh valve uses "rotator" to avoid burning the valve/seat.
New forged keepers and new valve stem seals would be a good idea too.

So do I use self aligning rockers for this? Also can you buy these in the split sets or do you have to buy both full sets of 1.5 and 1.6 ? Thanks, Larry
i just had the valve covers off of my e86 yesterday. when the heads have the small hole were the pushrods come through dont use self align. the small hole on the heads keep them lined up. most factory cast iron heads are like this.

You will need non self aligning rockers. I think I have seen split sets available online, just don't remember where.
Thanks alot guys for the info now I can get some parts together. I'm gonna go with Edelbrock Elite covers (short), New springs, Seals, Keepers and the 1.5 /1.6 combo. Thanks again, Larry
