Default radiator replacement

Getting ready to change out my rad on my 95, any surprises I should be on the lookout for?

Default Nope

Vince,

No different than any other radiator swap I have ever done. Take off the cowling/radiator cover. Disconnect the hoses, pull the radiator. Reverse the process and your done. Simple. Took me about 2 hours and I really cleaned everything well. As has been said many times here, you will be surprised by all the stuff these cars suck in through the bottom.

Only real challenge for me was the six (three on each side) little screws (hex head) that fit along the sides of the cowling. These are the forward most screws and are kind of wedged in between the structural pieces in the front. Getting those to line up and getting a socket on them is tough. So factor in a few bad words and a few scraped knuckles to boot! It is tight. I removed the horns/horn brackets to make access a little easier or you can go in throught the bottom in the front to re-attached at least the lower two on each side.

Your all set!

I got my radiator from the Partsladi on fleabay. Delphi OEM made in the USA. Shipped to my door for $130.00 Not to bad.
Other than that it is a snap.

Vince, your set. Now cross your arms and nod your head once and like magic it will be done! (Do you remember "I dream of Jeannie"?) Good luck and have fun!

Those three little lower bolts on each side that hold on the shroud is the toughest part. I bought a little 7mm open end wrench to remove the bolts.

When reinstalling the bolts, install them on the opposite side so, you can access them from the underside. I did this and can now remove all six bolts within a minute.

That is good advice... BTW the longer the handle of the 7mm the better, do you agree! Regardless of the tool you will lose a little skin on the knuckles!

I loosened (pulled back) the air pump and horn for easier access to that area. It definitely did help to get in and saved time in the long run.
