I have a 1988 Corvette with 110K miles on it. Service Engine Soon keeps coming up on the dash screen. The car drives like it needs a new mass airflow sensor and my mechanic tells me the diagnostic test shows that it needs a new mass airflow sensor. The part has been replaced four times in the past two years. Another issue is that the Low Engine Coolant light keeps coming up on the dash screen, but the engine coolant is full. Could the two problems be related? My mechanic can't seem to find the problem. What could be causing the mass airflow sensor to burn out?
FYI, the MAF also has a burnoff relay that should be replaced when replacing the MAF. I wouldn't think a coolant light would be related. As said, post in C4 general though. The ZR-1 doesn't have a MAF.
Ditto the above on the MAF burnoff relay. Also, the Low Engine Coolant light could be the result of air in the system. There's some good articles on how the 'burp' the system in the forums.
Your low coolant light might be a result of air trapped in your cooling system under the thermostat. You can Burp the system to get it out. Let us know if you need instructions.
