Only thing worse is backing your Suburban's trailer hitch into your own! Ask me how I know! Big blind spot behind the 'burban. Good news is I had only moved about a foot, no momentum. Minor damage to the bumper cover.

It has been a while since I posted but my car has been repaired and repainted. I got the deductible out of the guy who hit me. Life is good again! Thought I would share a pic of what it looks like now.

I learned something about parking vettes a long time ago, with my first one (a C3). I came out of a store and found someone had backed up onto my hood, left some gouges, and drove away. Ever since then, now on my 3rd vette, I always park them face in to a single parking space. The higher back end is much easier to see in someone's rear view mirror. Make sure it doesn't happen again.

He says he will pay my deductible. We'll see!
I really love that because, in june my father was accelerating and the tires spun in his vette in a parking lot of a store we were leaving, and a cop pulled us over on the road and took both our id's and he had a clean record for 40 years. he got no records just a ticket payment of $150 LOL I told him they can't do that because my brother is a cop and your scenerio has happened over and over they only get involved when they feel its ok! he paid it out of guilt now I am telling him this story also! SORRY to hear this!

Just kiddin. Good to see you got it fixed, looks good. Anything the body guy can do to bring the bumper gap down a bit or is it just the angle of the pic?

Default Bad thing turned good

I had my 85 parked in front of a store a few months back. Nothing was in any of the other spaces in front of this store when I went in. When I came out, I noticed a piece of crap car parked real close to the passenger side of my car. There was a lady who must have weighed in at about 375lbs. bending over into the back seat (what a sight) with her door against my car! Needless to say I asked her what the f--k she was doing so close to my car with all the empty space around the lot. She never lifted her head out of her car and told me to get bent! So I "kindly" shoved her door with her big fat azz behind it and she fell into the seat full of what else..... groceries! She started yelling for help because she was stuck. I did the only thing logical. I checked my car for scratches and found none so I left. I did the right thing didn't I?

I couldnt agree more.

I went to the Verison store with a friend (He drove his 05 GTO and I brought the vette) and the store is in a little plaza. But much like everyone has said. If you park TOO far away its like putting a target on your car especially what we were driving. So I parked somewhere in the middle where there was less congestion.

Anyway! When I pulled in. I saw a friend an he yelled "Put it down" so I gave it some love and ROCKETED through the lot to my parking space. Well sure enough there was some lady who ended up parking 3 spaces away from me that did not like my little manuver! So she grabbed her shopping cart and walked into A&P. Sure enough when she came out she wheels her shopping cart RIGHT OVER to my car leaves it TOUCHING my rear bumper... Grabs her bags and jumps in her car. Im watching this all happen from the Verison store so I go running towards my car and she guns it out of the lot. I took her plate number but I never did anything with it. I dont understand people... They just dont make any sense...

Humans are so frustrating...

That blows. That's looks like a sharp-looking car from your avatar pic. It it makes you feel better, the exact same thing happened to my DD about 10 years ago.

I was parked downtown and a telephone utility truck backed into my car while attempting to squeeze into a space the driver had no business trying to back into from the get-go.

I came out of my bank branch just in time to see the asshat driving away. I couldn't make out his plate, either. It sucked, but I eventually got my car re-painted.

You shined your butt, she shined hers. There are consequences for your action. The human brain doesn't fully process the consequences till the age of 25. Why do you think ins rates go down at 25?

Yeah, rule number 1 on owning and keeping a nice car( corvette). never, I repeat NEVER drive it and park it somewhere where you cannot see it. If you do you are just asking for trouble.

Was it a dodge diesel by chance? If so, there is a pretty big problem with the shifter on those trucks coming out of park if its left running because of the engine vibration and the shifter design. My future father in law works in insurance and has to deal with alot of claims because of this. Hope you can get it all resolved though. Gotta hate people with no insurance. -Karson

That makes no sense what so ever... My action of juicing it in the parking lot does NOT give anyone the right to deface my property. If she decided to call the cops or security thats one thing. But DAMAGING MY PROPERTY was no worthy consequence for my action.

Adults that get on my case because of age disgust me.

Glad you got your car fixed.
If it was a REAL accident than that’s different, but to the people that do this on purpose I have no patients.

Lets see these are the same people that want you to feel sorry for them and there misfortunes.

Yes America is a great country but it fare from perfect!
In day to day situations there are allot of people that just don’t care about anything but themselves and your prize Vette or what ever nice car you’re driving doesn’t mean a thing to them, and allot of it is spite, jealousy, or just plain ignorance.

I'll never forget when I saw that someone had scratched F..K on my car.
O I guess I shouldn’t be mad (THERE GOES ANOTHER GREAT AMERICAN)

Hmm... Maybe you are Kreskin in disguise ... Its no mystery I have posted my age a multitude of times on this forum...

This thread is not to hate on other vette owners... It is about experiences we have all had with silly people and our cars. Why you are hating on me because of my age is COMPLETELY irrelivant. And I dont understand what age has to do with it because I know two people off the top of my head that are 40+ years of age and still street race every wed. and sunday.

Age has nothing to do with it. Its about maturity. But I guess Im inmature.
