Default Help PLEASE!

I found a 89 Vert for my dad. It's his 1st Vette and wants a vert. My question is what is a good price for it? Details:
89 red with red interior white top
auto
27,500 miles.
owned for over 15 years, 2nd owner
Never seen rain
spotless
owned by car collector
I'm trying to get it for around $14500 -$15000
Is this a fair price for the car? Thanks in advance.

Seems a bit high for a 20 year-old car, regardless of the low miles. $9-11k seems more in line with the market.

What does KBB and NADA say...that is what I would pay. It's worth what someone will pay for it.

I think for a car you describe, in excellent condition with the low miles

I would not hesitate to pay 10-15k for that car !

For Perspective. There is a clean 87 (high dollar repaint on it) out here offered for 13,500 with close to 100K on it. Been on the market for a month, still not sold.

That's pretty close to C5 vert prices. ($15k-$20k)

I would expect to see that car listed private party in the WI/MN area for $11000-13000. Still doesn't mean they would get that.

Thanks for the replies. It is supposedly showroom condition and the white top looks like it is out of the showroom. I'm gonna take a look at it Sunday a.m. I'm thinking $14k. He wanted $15800. My dad is really into the low mileage aspect of it. I was pushing him for a 92-96 or even a higher mileage C5! He wants a Vert and doesn't want to spend $20k......

If thats asking I would start with an 11 offer, and work up to your 14 range after that

Even with the low miles things still go bad with age. Seals dry out, hoses weaken, electronics go bad etc, etc. 11k is about right to start.

I wouldn't pay more than 12,000 for it. I saw a nice 95 convertible with about 50,000 miles last month at a dealer for just under 16,000.

Here's an 89 with 90,000 miles and a hardtop in Chicago. The guy has been trying to get rid of it for a year. Asking $9,000.

Well, my dad pulled the trigger. The car is Spotless! In a tiled heated and cooled garage with an 03 Z with 1100 miles on it and a 70 4spd with 43k on it! This garage was amazing! 70 SS454 Chevelle in there and the 1st Harley Davidson Edition F150 from I think 2000 with 700 miles on it! We got the Vette for a hair over 14k. He owned it for 18 years and kept it perfect! It might be a little on the High side but it is just what he was looking for, a low mileage Vert to enjoy! I'll keep you posted and put up some pics too!

It looks just mine does, same year and color, and I think it's little high in the price.
