I am looking for a factory drawing of the 86 c4 frame. One with all of the dementions .The type that a frame shop would use to check for being straight. Thanks
The "frame dimension specification" drawings that collision shops use are quite large and I don't know of anyone that would "give" them away! Expensive "subscription service"!
The later "measuring systems" that use "targets" don't have information that would be of much use to most users! They're buried in "software"!
The FSM has dimensions that are quite comprehensive and get the diagnostic job done!
[I am trying to design a front frame section to fit onto a 57 chevy.I plan on using a 86 c4 front suspension. I need the drawings so I can figure the frame height. thanks for any help

There are several "builders" that offer a package that will accomodate your exact needs. I'm not talking about an entire "tubular" frame but just the required front section to retain the front perimeter frame etc. BUT if it were a serious project I would consider a "tubular" frame package from one of the builders out there that will accomodate a "later drivetrain and suspension" package. Here's a builder: http://www.sriiimotorsports.com/
Here's a project that used one of their creations: http://www.vettetech.com/ and just click on the link to the left titled
"Frankensport"
I thought at one time SRIII offered a '55-'57 package.
Here's one that might offer just the required to mount the C4 stuff on your frame rails, which sounds like what you want to accomplish anyway!
You mention '86 C4 suspension. I believe if I wanted to use C4 suspension I'd lean towards '89 + MY suspension. More brake options and considerably more readily available for spare parts if required.
