Hey guys, I'm looking at a Ruby and am looking for a little advice.
54,600 mi, great shape in and out. It's at a dealer asking $13950. good deal, fair deal? Any input or "need to know" about them?
Thanks!

Regardless, I would agree it's probably a little high... but not to the point that I would walk away if you like the car and you want it. If you can get it for $12k you're probably doing well (especially if it's a 6-speed vert).

I'm sure the dealer would be thrilled to get $12K for it. Just don't show that you are obsessed with that particular car. The miles are low and it IS a ruby. offer $11.5K and see what they do...The economy is not great and gas is high. I would think they would want to move it.

On the other hand...If you really want this car, $12K is not too much for a ruby with low miles.

Do a carfax and find out the service history if you can (optispark etc). Further, check to make sure all electrical accessorys work (windows, locks, PKE, sport seat power switches). Also, if it still has the Bose system, check the speakers and head unit. Does the CD and cassette unit work? AC should blow cold and all switches on climate control should function properly. How is the weather stripping? Good luck on the Ruby. They are beautiful C-4's but I am partial. :o

If it has the high performance gear, it will lower gas mileage.

Don't forget to check the center caps, they should be ruby in color. There getting expensive to replace.

Tim:
You may want to make sure the head light motors open and close properly. The seat bolsters and sill carpet should not be worn on a low mileage Ruby. Also, check the power antenna functions. Make sure there are no codes popping up and the DIC is clear of any malfunctions (check engine, LTPW etc.). Good luck and any questions please ask.
Regards,
Mark
