Default will not start warm

1990 6sp starts and runs great, when warmed-up (temp stays at 160) will not start, let it sit and it starts right up had it out last night for a run with friends ran fine up over 100 mph but ever time we stopped we had to wait for me to cool down to go i do not like being afraid to drive it ,it takes some of the fun out it.this is what i know, new ecm, fuel pres. around 40,have spark, idles around 1100 if we turn it down to 800/900 where i think it is suppost to be it kind of idles rough up and down a little so we put it back to 1100 rpm.also at the end of the night on my way home it shut down on me for a split sec (light and everthing when moving down a back road)like a little gremlin ,freaked me out but kept running fine the 4 more miles home, like clock work it did not start once home in the garage.also no major mods on car i had it for 1 yr 106000 miles i put on about 1000.thanks for any help i don't want to keep feeding her parts just for the heck of it

So you just got it...

Now get FSM volume 2, and a multimeter. Don't let dust get on it either...

Do you smell gas when it won't start?

You are going to need to have the car scanned and check out the Coolant Temp Sensor. I acts like a choke on a carb, and if it goes bad, it will send the wrong info to the ECM (computer) and the ECM will flood the engine w/ gas.

if were older, thats a classic "coil going bad" sign. When that happened to me, I would pour a bit of water over the coil(s), and it would crank right up.

Had the exact problem with my 90 vert. Ran fine when cold. Once it heated up the idle bounced around and there was a serious lack of power, it would stall and would not restart. Let it sit for an hour and it would start right up.

Diagnostics were clean. No codes. Turned out to be 3 bad injectors. Replaced all 8. Hot start problem gone, power is back and it idles much better.
