Default wheels

hello all,

I have a corvette 88 and would like to change the rims, I do against not much in 5X120, 6 can mount 5X120 without problem otherwise there is not much choice. Do you know the width of a rim of origin? if you know where I can find rims tell me. thank you

your wheels aren't actually 5x120, they're 5x4.5", which is 5x120.65 or something like that. Wheels that are 5x120, like BMW's, will fit, but will not seat properly and will probably cause problems down the road. You can use any Corvette wheel from later C4's, C5's, or even C6's and they will fit correctly. Also many aftermarket manufacturers make wheels that are the correct size and offset.

Personally I'm a fan of the A-molds. Yes everyone has them, but for a reason. They just look dam good on the C4. C5 z06 wheels also look good.

ok, I also saw reproductions of rims C6 2008 but it is of good quality? but what is the width of a rim of origin so that I can buy new rims and have no surprise it exceeds the body?

Not knowing the brand I can't comment on quality, but if it's a reputable manufacturer you're most likely OK. You may want to go over to the C6 forum and see if anyone has their stock wheels for sale. You may be able to find them for really cheap there, just a thought.

As for the width, your car came stock with 9.5" wide wheels all around (I think, may be 8.5" in the front). However, that isn't the only thing to look for. Your stock offset is 56mm, which says how far the wheel sticks out relative to the hub (in layman's terms).

I'm not 100% sure about whether C6 wheels will fit without an adapter or not, but I think they will simply bolt on with nothing needed. Don't quote me on that.

That is tire size, not wheel size.
Wheel size is designated in diameter (17") and rim width (8.5" or 9.5"). Offset can vary with the same sizes.

agreement, but the offset of 56mm is original, so if I change tires, no matter what the offset with a 56mm above will not exceed neither return to the body, after the width of the rim is just to be able to mount tires more or less wide. I rise to 18 ", but the 20" it's still too large or is it?

In 88 16-inch 8.5 inch wheels were standard tires P255/50ZR-16 Goodyear Eagle GT, but the optional 17-inch wheels 9.5 inch looked similar but came with P275/4OZR-17 Goodyear Eagle GT tires.
