Hi
I have an 88 Corvette, 350 Auto. It's all standard, original and fuel injected. My thermo fan won't work off the temp switch. The fan is good and so is the relay. I just can't find the temp switch that operates it. I was told by the local parts supplier (here in Australia) that it's on the driver's side of the engine. I bought a new switch off him, but can't find one like it anywhere on the engine.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks a Million
Tom Kress
On my 91" there where 2 switches on the pass side. The one in the head was for the guage and there was one on the block just forward and above the starter that was the primary fan. The car was a little hacked up so I can't say if that was the way it was from the factory.
Yours may be the same
The drivers side head should contain the temp switch for the booster fan(front of rad), if your vette has this option. If it doesn't, you will find a pipe plug in the head.
If your talking about the main fan(between rad and motor), it is controlled by the ECM with input comming from the coolant temp sensor(front of intake base) and the AC pressure switch. http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/Co...0View%2086.pdf
He is in Australia so the driver side to us Americans is the passenger side to him................Unless he means its still left hand drive since its "original".
Thanks very much for the info and diagram. I haven't got to checking it out yet, but hopefully it should help.
All the best
Tom
