Actually quite the opposite. The C3 was such an anemic car and ran so long with crappy quality the car must have been close to death. The C4 brought the Vette back into the present in many ways.
I think you meant to say C5. I still have trouble with them compared to the Firebird head on.

C1-The car that started it all and who's spirit lives in every other Corvette.
C2- The perfected C1 spirit in a better handling car.
C4- All the feel of the C1,2 and 3 but with much better handling and luxury features.
C5- The modern day sports car.
C3- The car that was able to survive the emission crazies while keeping as much tradition as possible.
