Ok gonna swap out a D-36 to a D-44. So to confirm what parts do I need to transfer over? I plan to just drop and replace the entire rear, so I need the 44's C beam, will the front just bolt up to my auto's tail housing? and the drivehaft. which yoke do I need? the auto's or the manuals?

you will need the c beam, 44 cover/batwing, d.shaft w/auto yolk (if using an auto), and a good time to change upper bushings. With that everthing will bolt right in.

I'm in the middle of changing mine out as well. The bushings are a pain right in the butt!
But I was able to get mine out and replaced in about an hour once I did some research on how to do it.
Should bolt right in.

C beam is like a torque arm, it's the only other thing other than the motor hodling the trans up (other than shifter), Bat wing is the diff cover on a Vette it has two wing shape arms that attach to the frame.

C-beam, no pic of the batwing

The manual C beam will bolt directly to the auto tailshaft housing. The front yoke issue depends on which manual driveshaft you get.
If you use one from the 4-3 it has the same spline as the automatic and should work as is. If the manual shaft is from a ZF6 you will need to remove the front yoke and install the one from your automatic, the ZF6 yoke is larger and splined differently.
