UPS Damaged Top !
Never had that problem with UPS Does fed ex always require someone to sign-so your screwed and have to wait an extra day when the delivery guy shows up at your house when no one is home.
On the other hand, I have the same problem as another poster with Fedex not leaving anything but the note on the door, then I have to drive across town to pick it up, that gets old. And I don't exactly live in a bad neighborhood where theft is likely an issue.
I will NEVER ship or buy a top again. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ****!!!!

thats why i stay away from UPS, and "the ups stores"
oh, and DHL, because they can't read addresses, but thats another story

! You couldn't bend one like that if you backed the truck over it! The driver said "maybe somebody closed the rear door on it".
It was a new axle in a manufactures box so they made it right. It must have been a dare to see if anybody could bend it, but how; that will remain a mystery.
8:00 pm knowing darn well I wouldn't be in.Called for him yesterday and I was told he was off till today,Just tried him again and was told He's on vacation maybe rhe rest of the week. Wow !
Just like you guys said. But I'm not giving up even if I have to go to Small Claims Court

There are a lot of false claims out there which is why every claim is denied the first time out.

The transparent tops are one of the most difficult things to package and ship.
I've seen original GM tops come packaged with nothing more than styrofoam on the ends and no damage and I've seen one's bubble wrapped like crazy damaged.
It's a gamble, the key thing is to make sure there is no movement within the box. That brings the possibility of a damdge down extremely.
Peanuts are the worst invention for the packaging world, they should only be used as a filler, not for packing.
Bubble wrap to a point and rigid foam is the best bet.
How many here have received a laptop or other computer through UPS, DHL or Fed Ex? Was it damaged? More than likely not, take a look how it was packaged. Yup, with styrofoam.
If anyone has any more questions or comments, feel free to PM me.

Haven't received a damaged one yet in over 8 years.
Rigid styrofoam works very well.
Not sure about all manufacturers, but Apple and Dell both use it.
Anytime I ship a top, I use a box with a couple inches to spare on each side of the top, I put the top in a plastic trash bag and I put the bagged top in the box and fill the box with the expanding, spray in, insulation foam. Haven't lost one yet. Works good for other fragil items, too.
