I have read the forums and used the search. I have a Used **** on a complete shifter assembly I want to remove it and put it on my shifter. here is the rub, it took forever to find that dang little piece of plastic and I DONT want to break it when i remove it. All the thread say it just "pop"s off, is this correct? it "looks" like a friction fit with pegs of some type, can i sqweeze the bottom slightly to make the pegs slip out easier?

Side note, anybody want a complete shifter assembly, ****, boot and switch for $50 and shipping? No plastic top peice.

It does pop off. Take a tiny flat head screw driver and gently pry it up.
