I thought I would relay my experience. I ordered 3 items yesterday in my ongoing quest to make the 84 a new car( I'm doing it one part at a time ). The first two items were in stock and the sales person relayed that info. The third item was back ordered and she asked me if that was OK or would I prefer to cancel the order.
Way to go Eckeler's !!! Give the customer info upfront and let us know our options. This is the way all parts suppliers should operate.
Jon:
I agree but there are some specialty items that TLD doesn't carry. I will say that even though I have had some bad experiences with parts vendors, TLD's has always been first rate.
I have to agree. The times that I have ordered from Eckler's they have been great. One time I was sent the wrong thing, and they replaced it right away.
It's been said many times, but it bears repeating. If you're looking for stock GM parts try Jeff Kopp (18carfan) at Superior Chevrolet. Make sure you tell him you're a CF member, and you'll get parts just over his cost...something like 40% off list. I just ordered a bunch of stuff for my son's Camaro last Thursday and received it yesterday, even though some of it he didn't have in his local stock. An example of the price: taillight lens....list: $169 Jeff: $108
I like Eckler's for a lot of stuff, but if I'm looking for stuff like shirts and hats, I'll go to Mid-America...plus anytime I order there it arrives the next day! Always a bonus! LOL :D
