I'll probably take some grief for this, but what about plain, cheap wax?

I use a buffer to take car of the paint, but turn it on high with a little wax, and the windows come out like new. A side effect is that you never need to use your wipers!

The Ultimate Towel from Southern Car Parts is the only way to go!
Wet it, wipe it and you're done! You can run it through the washer, bleach it, it's still good as new! $6 each..you can't beat it!

I just use Armor All brand autoglass cleaner. Works great. Normal Windex has amonia in it and I believe that is what leaves that streaky film behind.

If you are talking about those hard mineral deposits that are stuck/baked onto the windshield, you need to get something slightly abbrasive to remove them like Bon Ami. But, I have NEVER found Bon Ami ANYWHERE in Waco, TX, so I just used a stovetop cleaner I got at Target and it worked great. I wouldn't let that stuff touch your paint though.

Thanks for the plug....we have sold thousands of these on the C5 and C6 forums. Everyone seems to really like them, they really do work as advertised and are guaranteed to last 5 years!!!

Default window cleaner

Every spring for the last 40 years I "sos" my outside glass to remove film grit tar whatever.Inside I use plain brown paper towels like you find in a bathroom dispenser.White paper towel is the WORST!!!! EVERYTHING else has crap in it that just streaks like crazy.Forget windex, use a commercial cleaner from auto parts store.
Yah I know SOS ???But it doesn't scratch glass and man does it brighten the glass.I also wax all the glass outside except windshield.
Like I say in 40years I've competed in Concours de elegance and never lost points for bad glass.

Ive tried several different things and this is what i use. Invisible glass, wipe first, then flip the microfiber over and wipe it dry. Makes your glass perfect

Best thing I've used to date is Stoner's Invisible Glass in the aerosol can and newspapers. Problem is, my wife is always using it for the mirrors in the house, too.

Yup, it's that good!

...a few years ago, i had a conversation with some window washers doing a high-rise building...they said that they use 1 cup ammonia, 1 cup rubbing alcohol, and i cup water....it dries quickly, disolves grease/grime is can be wiped off with paper towels or b+w newspaper.....i have tried it and it indeed works!....

...as far as the outside goes, "barkeepers friend" or "bon-ami" cleanser will remove all the crap and will not scratch the glass...it is the only think that the manufacturers of rain-x say that will remove their product...

Default Best Window Cleaner around.

Ok guy/gals...put your check books away and think of what your mother use to use. OK OK...that is if you are older than dirt.

I purchased my 92 vet last year and the windows looked great. That is until I drove it home and that is from Texas to Nebraska in which I ended up driving in rain and nite. The windshield really had a lot of glare in these conditions. After I got home I washed it and cleaned it up after the trip. I tried everything to clean windows on the inside. They kept getting more and more streaks. Finally I remembered what my Mother always said....Vinegar...just good old fashion White Vinegar and newspapers. They cleaned them so good they looked like new and NO GLARE at nite.

So put those high priced cleaners away in hidden closet and go out and spend about 2 bucks....and presto....clean windows.

Bon Ami used to be available in any supermarket and now I can't find it anywhere either. I used to use it detailing cars all the time. The Bon Ami "Polishing Cleanser" you see in stores is not recommended for glass. The right one is Bon Ami "Original" and the only place I've found it is online.

Has anyone tried the Corsa Cloth? I toured their plant this summer and at the end our tour guide (son of the CEO) talked about their new Corsa Cloth and how good it is. BTW he is right, very easy to use, inexpensive, and reusable. I used to use Stoners Invisible Glass, now I use my Corsa cloth.

It's not often a product matches it's advertising hype. This one does.

I've tried everything. Stoner's works as well as anything and better than most.
