Have a small part that is threaded female on one end, with like a switch protruding from it....on the other end is a prong, three prongs. Can't figure out what it's for Came with a bunch of new parts when i bought the car, stuff the previous owner was going to replace.

Obviously it's a 3 pronged female threaded switch.
Hell if I know what it's for.

Check to see if your brake lights work, don't consider the work.
It looks like the brake light switch. Look up under the dash. When the break pedal is up the brake lever closes the switch, when you depress the brake the switch opens and your brake light come on.
2nd pic =Coil Bushing and copper spring.Probably did a tune up and left it out.Oh yeah,its in the distributor cap.And this the other part,another distributor part.Capacitor harness
