Demonic85,

If its got grease zerts..it gets greased...if its gotta a drain and fill plug...it gets drained and refilled..if its got paint, it gets waxed...if is glass...it gets shined...it its leather...it gets treated and conditioned...if its carpet...it gets vaccumed, cleaned and vac'd again...if its vinyl...it gets a damp rag rub down...if its a rubber gasket...it gets silicone...if its dirt...it goes in the yard...if its the aluminized exhaust system...it gets washed...and cleaned up with metal polish...it shines like a new penny...a car deserves to be clean..if they intended to be dirty, you'd get them that way off the assembly line.

Man, that looks Great!
I'm going to try that combo....but I can't flush with hose, due to the dreaded optispark! I'll just wipe it all down with damp shop rags!

I did use an air hose to blow off the excess water. Again watch the opti.

I find standard "Brake Clean" works best to really strip off the Greasy Crud from things.

Simple Green i use on wheels and engine, fender wells etc.
I used BrakeKleen with a scotch pad and toothbrush to clean up my suspension and half shafts. Simple Green works well under the hood. I saw the blue stuff at my Home Depot but thought it was a gimmick. Guess I'll have to give it a go

That is sweet looking. So you just sprayed everything with WD40, then sprayed everything with simple green, then hosed off? I'm gonna pull the plenum and runners to clean those off as well as the top of the intake.

I've also bought some CD-2 detailer stuff to spray on everything when I'm done. I've been told it leaves everything nice, shiney, and clean looking.

Oh, and how are you guys diluting the Simple Green? I don't see how as it comes in a spray bottle. Do you just get another spray bottle, and fill 50/50 with water and Simple Green?

I don't have a local Home Depot. So, I'll stop by Lowes and ACE to see if they have the blue bottle Simple Green.

I just sprayed under the intake with WD40, let it set for 15 min on cold engine. Sprayed Simple green waited 15 min, ran the water under low pressure and then blew off excess with air hose. I also covered the painted surface of car exterior. Might save you some labor by not having to remove the intake. I did use the green. Not familar with the blue.

The directions talk about mixing it with water. That is how I have used it in the past. Full strength on engine parts should be no problem.

Ah, ok. I don't have a Home Depot. I do want to use the blue bottle as it is supposed to be safer. I've got lots of crud on my suspension parts to get off. What else is real good at getting that stuff off without damaging anything? Something you spray on and hose off.

I saw Lowes had Krud Kutter. Don't know if that is any good.

Default I work @ Home Depot in NJ

I've been working at my local Home Depot for the past 5 years. We just got the Blue Simple Green in about 2 months ago and I bought a bottle and used it on my '85. It works great. I tried it after reading some of the posts on here. I didn't realize that so many people don't have HD's near them. I just figured there's an HD within 20 minutes of everyone in the USA. Anyway, I'd be willing to help anyone that wants a bottle of the stuff. I can buy a new bottle of it tomorrow, box it up with a box that would have been crushed, and go to the local post office and find out how much it would cost to ship according to the weight of the box. I'll post the amount and then we can work out something from there. I think the Blue Simple Green is $4.97. I don't get a discount on the product or anything in the store for that matter, and I don't want to make money for helping people with the same intrest as mine. PM me if your intrested. Tom

How easy was it to get rid of the crud on the suspension parts with the Blue Simple Green? I've got lots of crud on the suspension/front of engine and on the shocks/brake caliper area.

And what are you guys using to clean the backside of the hood? Mine is black but as white splotches all over.
