Default New guy!

How goes it all. I finally managed to get my Vette and figured I would join up here as well.

Picked it up in San Antonio TX. with 45,000 on the clock. Everything in the car is near perfect with the exception of the paint. It got a couple of scratches while setting in a guys garage for years

Most of them are not bad at all. I could hide them with touch up paint and a REAL cautious bit of wet sanding. The passenger side door got something on it that I am not sure what it is. It had a cover on it and it almost looks like the cover got real hot and left a pattern mark on it. Problem there is that it was in a climate controlled garage it's entire life. That too can be wet sanded.
Frankly I think that I will just end up waiting and getting the car repainted. I just need to find a truly excellent shop that will use true GM color since it is the somewhat more rare Admiral Blue.
I have to put the Delrin bushings in the headlights, do my optispark+cap+rotor+wires+plugs as soon as it warms up a little. The car runs great cold when it is pouring enough fuel in it to help ionize the plug gap, but as soon as it warms up it gets a wicked idle miss and loses a huge amount of power. I'll no doubt end up putting an ICM in it at the same time.
I'll get some pics up as soon as I reduce the size of all that I have, and they can be uploaded.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you get into the regional section to find other Vette owners in your area. Oh, beware, we can spend your money faster than Uncle Sam can print it. You didn't just buy a Vette, you bought into a lifestyle. Enjoy.

Welcome, Blu. That's a beautiful car! Doesn't look like it needs paint to me. You might want to check out Zaino products. They've got stuff to minimize and cover scratches and swirl marks. I use their products on my '89 dark red metallic coupe.
