kick his butt will... i smoked a '00 or '01 prelude he other day twice. it was a close kill, but i got him both times. we were in interstate running about 65 when he got beside me, and he nailed it. he had the wing and fart pipe with chinese lettering... he stayed around my rear bumper to about 100mph then i started pulling away. i slowed down and we did it again. same results. i let off around 115mph. he couldn't catch me so i just let off..
Well, the new eclipses aint like the old ones. No turbos from the factory, although aftermarket ones are slowly becoming more and more available.
I'm actually thinking about blowin' my R/T. It would be putting out around 350 horsepower if I did that *im also doing intake, exaust, downpipe, lowering 2 inches, 18 inch wheels, kuhmos, maybe an S-AFC* and that...would put up a fight against even the newer vettes. Not so much in the 1/4, but everything up til'.
It would be a fun sleeper, but I would never find it in my heart to race a corvette.
The auto's now arent really as bad as I made them seem. You'll still have trouble regardless of his tranny. We only lose about 3 tenths in the quarter mile, and are pretty even up until 70-75 with against a manual. But an auto would be to your advantage to race.
Being new to the car scene, I didnt know the chrysler/mitsu relation was so strong. I've only been into cars since I started driving them, about a year and 2 months ago :-) So it suprised me.
Hmm, 3k on a turbo kit, or 3k invested in mods to my up and coming C4 LT1??? Tough decision!!!!! But in a vette, I wouldnt feel I needed to race to prove anything. I'd just let everyone else waste their gas :-) But the dodge...it says R/T on the side of it, and were pretty much dogs bone stock. So that...yeah, I'd race it :-)
