Hi, does any one have schematics for the headlight wiring on a 96? I have been told by a local mechanic that there is an inline fuse in there somewhere. However, i sure haven't found it. The problem i have is that the left headlight will not go up or down except manually. I confirmed that it is not the motor (actuator) that is the problem. Thanks for any and all help.
I had a similar problem with my right headlight last year. It turned out that the headlight motor was shot. I found this out after replacing the actuator module....
Anyway, I bought a replacement motor from Ecklers and it's worked fine ever since!

Does the motor run before and after you turn the headlamp switch off an on? If so your Delran bushings are probablly shot on that side. So the motor has nothing to grab onto to raise and lower the headlight bucket.
Originally i just assumed that it was the motor (actuator) so i purchased a new one and replaced it. Needless to say it did not solve the problem. The motor is not getting power to it for some reason.
Im heading over to my fathers house tomorrow to do a rear hatch window weatherstrip install. He has a 96 and the two VOL FSMs I gave him for Christmas if noboby chimes in before then I will took a look and post up tomorrow night. Best I can do. GC
When i put mine back together i noticed my brush for the armature of the motor had come lose and was causing mine to not work re-attached and reconnect with was a PITA but worked fine after that !!!
make sure you have 12 volts on both red wires at the actuator control module. if you do and only one side moves, check the light green and dark green for left side or light blue and dark blue for the right side. the module controls door opperation. if 12v in and no out, the module is no good. post your email and i can send you the diagram.

Thanks, my email is txquarterstang@aol.com I have been thinking its that module which is the problem. But, I had been told that neither actuator will operate when the module goes out and I did not know which wires to test. Thanks again
