Default Glass Top

I have both tops for my 84' the glass and the painted. About two years ago my glass top developed a slight crack down the middle. I would like to get another glass top but does anyone make the top with a super dark, almost non see through top. I am 6'4" and I like the extra inch of head room the glass top gives me. I also think it would help keep the temps down on those hot summer days while saving my head from baking.

I did try the darkest tint on the inside, but with the compound curves it really didn't look too good and still wasn't all that dark.

What you might want to do is take off the headliner on the fiberglass top. Carefully, it should be velcroed in on an 84. Go to a fabic store and buy some headliner material, and glue it directly to the inside of the top without the headliner backing. I know of no darker tinted tops, and they all seem to crack or "craze" eventually. Some of the companies do sell a "liner" for the inside of the glass tops, but they seem to take up about 1/2".

Thanks, I think I'll give the fabric a try.

Static cling "screens" are available as well as a fabric type liner. Check with Ecklers

I wonder how dark it would be if you doubled up on the tint? Just a thought.
