I think it was 1985. Nope not totally the same....most of the camaro L98 were 305s. They run the same intake runners on the 305 and 350 though...this is why you 350 can't breath....they were designed to be run on a 305 not a 350. Most camaros have Iron heads too....among other differences.
thought the l98 was a 350 tpi? 305 tpi came to the camaro in 1985 and the 350 didnt come til i think it was 86, possibly 87 not sure exactly on that, think 86. and the 350's were only available in auto.
Camaro's got the 350 in 87 carried the B2L code. In 87 it was rated at 210 hp and went up from there upto 240 in 92. The key difference between a Corvette and an F-body L98 was the F-bodies only got iron heads.
P.S there is no such thing as a 305 L98, the 305 TPI motor carried an LB9 rpo code.

Not to hijack the thread here but have you ever heard of a California Z28 option? This was offered in 87? and basically it was a Z28 that didnt have the hood or rear spoiler but had the Z wheels and body skirts. These are pretty rare but just saw one the other day. These were only offered in black, white and red.

There is no RPO code lnown as "california Z28" the only thing I can think of is A B4C police package that gave you Z28 hardware with a non Z body but not sure if ut goes back to 87 or not.
