A buddy of mine told me he was real sure I had 17x11 already on my car,at tire shop they measured with a gauge outside rim edge to egde it measure 10. Does that mean I have 9.5's
Leading to my question.
What does the outside rim edge to edge measure on the 17x11????
I'm wanting 11's so I can go with 315's... Any help appreciated... Any pics?? I thought the 17x11 had deep dish by lug nut holes mines not deep...
As posted you measure about ten inches and that the lug area is not deep which leads to guess they are 9.5s all around. Even with a 50 MM GS offset your wheels would be poking outside the fenders which is why GS 96s whet with those nifty rear fender flares. You dont have a GS a listed in your profile (Or not much else for that matter) so my guess is pretty solid its a 17 X 9.5 rear wheel as well. Unless you have a 1996 GS
My car is a 1996 collectors I bought used with 99,000 on it. Somebody had already chromed the wheels so I don't even know if they are the originals or aftermarket.
I think I have 8.5 on front and 9.5 on rear. Plan on the fender extensions in the future.
Just wasnt sure how far the 11's stick out. Any pics or anything???
As for me personally I am a bike guy. Corvettes a everyday driver and my bike is my fun. Its a ZX12 or 1200cc Kawasaki with dual stage NOS. Guess Ill have to find and fix my profile.LOL
Anyway hoping to see pics of 11's on car so I can get an idea if possible..
Hey man, I have a 96 CE with 11" Rims on it. If you email me a reminder tomorrow. I'll take some pictures. The tires are 315-35-17 on the rear and 275-40-17 on the front.
The stock wheel size is 8.5 on front and 9.5 on back. If you are not sure the wheel size is stamped on the back of one of the spokes.
I just put 315's Sumitomos on my 9.5 rears. I would say in terms of looks, they do "puff" out a little bit. Really about the same as the good old Goodrich T/A's on the old school hot rods. It doesn't look bad IMO.
The Sumitomos seem to be a little narrower than say Goodyears of Goodrich, so we can gat away with them on 9.5 rims, depending on the look you want. But honestly, i would feel better if I had 11" wheels.
