Injector Problem

Default Injector Problem

I have a problem I can't solve. My 89 coupe will run fine for about 15 min. Once it warms up it starts missing then dies. I check the fuel presure and has around 41lbs. I put a noid light on one of the injectors and you can see the light get dimmer until it just cuts off. Once it dies it won't restart, and no light coming from the noid light on the injector. Once it cools off it will restart and do the same thing over. I also check for spark by removing one wires and it does have spark.

seems to me you have a shorted injector. Get an ohm meter and check the injectors for resistance. They should be about 16 ohms. If any are below 10 disconnect that injector and see if it starts. If you have multiple ones below 10 you can't restart because you need at least 6 injectors to run it. Either way it sounds like you will need a new set.

Yup check the resistance, hot and cold.

Jon, I found one injector with only 2 ohms, when the engine would warm up it would cut off like turning the key off, when I unpluged this injector it would fire right up, plugged the injector in and again it cut off. I talked with you yesterday and ordered the Bosch 3, looking forward to receiving and installing them. Thanks so much for your help, you sure saved me lots of time looking for this problem.
