85 Headlight Motor Problem

I installed a new p/s headlight motor and it work fine for a few days. The problem now is that it won't stop running when the light closes until I unplug it. When I plug it up again it still continues to run. I do not know how these things shut off opening or closing. I suppose that would help if I did. I have searched through the forum but have yet to find anything that speaks to this. Please help.

Never had a problem with mine so I can't comment from experience. With that said, there are limit switches at the end of each travel that work with the relays.

Sounds like a stuck relay. Did you replace those? $20 each from the dealer..not expensive. I've learned the relays always seem to go eventually.

I am going to replace the relays and see if that works.
