OK, I'm late here. Having owned 3 c3's,(73,74, and 82), the 82 was the best of them. I liked them for the time, I'll take my 86 or 94 over any c3 experience I had. They had hot trans tunnels in the summer that made my feet sweat, did'nt handle as well, did'nt get good fuel mileage, engine performance was marginal, I could go on, they did have nice lines but so do our c4's. I just bought a 94 polo vert, have a 86 pace to sell, and had an 88 z52, no comparison between the c3 vs c4- imho

IMHO, they made the C4 for too long,,,,, 12-years of essentially the same body style juts put too many of them on the road.....

They are all great cars appealing to different individual tastes.

If you want people to like you for your vehicle.

Then get a Harley.

Pay the price of admission, instant friends and get to dress like a pirate.

If you like C4 corvettes.......here is where we gather.

I've never heard that C3s are better than C4s, the only thing about them that could be considered "better" is looks but thats just preference. They are not better in performance so the only other issue would be build quality and that's not better either.

Default I've said it before...

...for more Corvette bashing, you can't beat the CF, and that (sadly) is pretty pathetic!! (the bashing, that is - leaving it at that).

I like all the Vettes - some I like more than others, sure. And, don't care if someone likes mine or not...I like mine a lot, and that's all that matters to me. I wouldn't trade for any other Vette! (Hmmmmm....Well, if someone has a nice '63 "split window" to trade even up...I'd have a few sleepless nights!!) Other than that, my C4 is here to stay!

As for C3s, I feel I'm qualified to comment; since we're a two-Vette family: a 90 ZR-1 and a 69 Vert.

The C3 compared to the C4 is (I've said this before) "rude, crude, and socially unacceptable", but that is it's charm! It is my wife's car - bought it herself.

In the grand scheme of things, both cars have been eclipsed in terms of any performance category you wish to choose. But, so what? They are both a hoot to drive, and I dare say the Z has more potential than I can appreciate "as is"!

So this "who's Vettes sucks" thread comes around more times than a carousel pony, and is about as silly as arguing about who has the bigger ***** (or breasts, for those gals that are following along here). Appreciate what gifts God gives us in life and stop pining over someone else's material things, and life would be a lot happier (for some). When 90% of the worlds' people are worried about where their next meal is going to come from, it seems totally absurd and pathetic to get one's panties in a wad over who's sports car sucks...if you get my drift.

Just my 2¢.

P.

Well said. BTW, Nice vette combo. 69, 90 Z. Must be difficult in the morning for you, deciding which one to drive.

I agree, the chrome bumper C3's are OK but that's it. And even then they are not as nice looking as the later C4's...

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but when I put my two Vettes side by side, the 1981 "disco" vette draws three times the crowd as my very nice C4. Not to mention I can sell my "disco" vette for twice what my C4 will bring so all the C3 haters give that a thought, compare what a nice chrome bumper car would bring compared to the nicest C4, not even close my friends......... and I love my C4 but not enough to ignore the obvious.

Disco baby!!!!!!!!!!!

why do people say c4 suck just because they have a c5 or c6 they say it is becase they are faster...
Naaa, those guys likely wouldn't fit into a C4, plus we C4 guys don't consider "floor matts" to be a legit "mod"...

I have seen c3 in lemans that outperform z06..
I once saw a c3 that it was hard for me to follow with
my C4 GT1 that output 640 rwhp. It was at francorchamp in belgium....
When i stopped after 15 laps i lost 5 liters water and came to see this c3...
It was a c3 that did lemans and it wad driven by a top gt1 Endurance pilot....

He smiled at me and gave me an autograph.
I ask him to drive test my gt1 , what he did, and i did not knew going so fast
With my vintage gt1 was possible.

I guess no matter what you drive c3 c4 c5 c6, it all depends on the pilot...
