why do people say c4 suck just because they have a c5 or c6 they say it is becase they are faster or coust more if that is the case then why do people say the c3 is so much better then the c4.when the c4 is a better car i dont get it .dont get me wrong i like the way the c3 looks but it does not have the performance of the c3 and yet they say it is better i dont get it.
Are you saying a SB C3 out performs a SB C4? Even comparing the BB C3 to the SB C4 in handling, the C4 couldn't be touched. I will put my stock 88 L98 against any C3, and if I lose it is because I am a terrible driver.
personally the c4 handles really good.. the looks are good 2. The C3 corvette are also really nice cars, do not handle as good as the c4 expecially the z51 c4's. I think it all comes down 2 taste.. I like the c3 as much as the c4. Now i want an 1980 corvette because those look really nice.
I've never received a negative comment about my car. The C3 is considered a classic and the C6 is the latest and greatest so the C4 and to a significantly lesser degree the C5 are both stuck in the middle.
I like them all some more than others but the only Corvette that really matters is the one you own, the others are nice to look at though.
This is easy, I have one of each. The C4 is a better car for driving, more power, comfort and handling, but the C3 just looks better and draws a much bigger crowd, end of story. Haven't we beat this one to death..........
me i love my 86 c4 and i like the look of the 82 c3 also,i have just herd so many bad things on hear about c4s,and most say the c5 and c6 are the best.i dont realy care for how they look to me but thats me.so if c5s and c6s are so much better then the c4s,then why do people say the c3s are better then the c4s.i think c4s just have a bad rap i gess
OK, i'll bite.
I drove the C3's when they were new. No power in he small blocks and no handling in the big blocks. The car was hot and not worth a c*rp. One big advantage: the big blocks were great in a drag race.
The C4 was a big step in the right direction. A real sports car. Finally a Corvette with good power and it could handle. Also, I like the lines of the C4. The C5 & C6 have that bubble butt thing going on. Nice cars but not perfect. Why Chevy didn't go with a mid-engine C6, I'll never understand.
The C4's are clasics now. The 84's are now officially "antiques" and the rest are soon to follow.
I have an 85 and it really is a car from an other time. No air bags, no ABS, very basic electronics, no remote entry and no traction control.
The problem is the great numbers of these cars that were built. The C4 was very popular and very successful. The C1's and C2's were built in small numbers. Many of the C3's are dead and gone. Thus the value is up. The C4's are a victim of their own success. Good cars that just keep on going.
Keep the faith, brothers, the C4's will one day be recognized as the greatest Corvette ever.

I love my C4, but it's not a classic, not yet. I don't think you can call a car a classic when you can still find them on most back street used car lots, won't find any C3s there.
keep your c4 to drive and enjoy and get a late c3 (78 to 82) to show... they will be the next to go way up $$$ in the market anyway... after that it will be the nice early c4's to go up but this is in at least 10 years from now
