I have been looking for a 1993 40th anniversay edition corvette for a while and saw one on a used car lot and stopped to look it. Well it was junk, had 90,000 fou other owners...i just walked away from it but I still had the bug for the car and I looked on the 40th website and saw the car for me.
Its the 1993 40th anniversary edition, convertible, 6sp. It is a fellow forum members car and we talked via email and the car sounded great but I live in eastern Pa and he was in Northern IL..so a week later my father and I flew out to O'hare and rented a car and drove to the car...saw it..feel in love and bought it and then drove back the 800 miles and Im in love with the car.
The car is tucked away in the garage till spring and I can not wait for the good weather to come back so I can go and drive it some.
this is my first C4 so I will be asking plenty of questions about the car. All this computer stuff
Congrats! It's a great feeling getting the car you want :yesnod: The 93' was my favorite even when not a 40th anv. last year of the glove box,4 spoke steering wheel, and I hate the design on the 94 and up seats. Not that I wouldn't take a newer one, just like those 93's best. I Hope you really enjoy it. Plus it was probably cool driving back with your dad. :seeya
Congrats, and good luck. And I was complaining about driving to Long Island from NE. Pa to get mine. Get a shop
manual and ask questions here, it takes a little while to get used to working on the vette compared to other cars,
but you will get the hang of it.
:yesnod: :yesnod: Could not have phrased it better  Hope to see you @ Carlisle, lined up with all the other Rubarians You are now part of an elite group of C-4 enthusiasts.
Good Luck,
Mark :seeya

Re: I got my 1993 Ruby (GreyGhost)
Great choice. I had to settle for an automatic, but still love the car. Had 9700 miles on it when I got it in 1998 and now has 33k. Love to drive it all the time. This forum is great for all your needs and questions. :) :seeya
Here is a qustion. I see ther ruby owners say their car is this certain number in production and such. Is there a way to tell where in the ruby production it is or just in the 1993 production line?
If you are referring to the Ruby Registry #, that is just the last five numbers in the VIN. The 40th Anniversary Option was not given a special VIN, as in the Grand Sport. As for the production line number, I would suggest that you get the build sheet for your specific Ruby. It contains a wealth of information (production line number, dealer delivery etc.) and is in essence the birth certificate for your car.
Good luck,
Mark :seeya
You will truly enjoy that car. Given time, you will figure out the "quirks" of the '93. Be sure to transfer your info. to the 40th Registry so that records are kept current, and don't forget to :seeya .
In regard to the 40th Registry numbers that people see sometimes included with Ruby info., it is the sequence number of the car that is being referred to. The sequence number is the last five digits on your VIN, that's all.
Send us some photos when you can, and enjoy! :yesnod:
