Default My Introduction

I'd like to introduce myself to everyone. My parents bought me a 300.00 86 camaro when I was 13. I've had landscaping jobs since I was 8, and saved up a lot of money. The car had no interior (purple and black sparkles, with black lights all inside), horrible paint job, no motor or tranny. We got our hands on a 350 out of a 71 Nova and rebuilt it, and a 700R4 and pumped it up as well. By the time I got my drivers license, we painted it, new motor, trans, and reupholstered the interior. I put a LOT of money into this car and LOVED it. One day after baseball practice, (Junior year in HS) my friend backed into my car in the passenger fender and door. I collected 2,500.00 from the insurance to fix the car. The next day I went to the junkyard and bought a 75.00 door and fender, repainted the entire car, and pocketed the money. Why am I telling you all this? This is how my 84 was drawn to me.
I searched through a trader for months and finally stumbled upon an 84 corvette and ended up buying it for 3,400.00 at age 17. I had to fix a few minor things on the car, but all in all a great deal. I am now 20 and a sophomore in college.
Here are some pics for your amusement. I hope you enjoy.

Heres a good shot of the damage

My first and second vehicle (86 camaro and 84 corvette)

The finished product

The 84 when I first got it!!!!

New rims (Zr1 replicas 9.5x17 front/11x17rear w/ Nittos) (the center caps were the wrong size and had to reorder them, I DO have the caps now)

I'm so glad you shared your story on the Forum. Being that focused at such a early age is such a rare thing. Your a third my age and have three times the talent I do so my hats off to you and the job you did. Both of your cars are really and you did nice job getting them to look that way. Enjoy those cars and your time here on the Forum.

Welcome to the forum!! I would've been happy to have just one of your cars when I was your age. There are a lot of people here to help with any questions you have but with your talent with cars, some of us might just need your help sometimes.

Welcome to the forum. You have two nice cars. And doing the work and paying for things yourself makes you appreciate things a little more.
Keep up the good work...
