Well folks,
As destiny would have it, I just bought another Corvette. A 1988 auto...Yahooooooooo!.
My oldest son will be driving next year and I kept thinking that I was going to be sitting a lot when he is in the driver seat at autocrosses and tours so I came across this deal for $900.00 I couldn't pass up. It runs but needs work; now I have lots of questions. They are so different from my 64. Computers, fuel injection, electric door locks and all.................. Will have lots of threads in the near future. This car really has some potential but I have my work cut out for me.
First threads will be engine. I'm sure there are some great enthusiasts like our friends in C2. Just bought a new digital camera to start taking some pictures of the projects.
Thanks to everyone in advance for any assistance or advice. Dan
$900 is the lowest price that I've seen so far for a vette that runs which seems like a pretty good deal. Good luck with your car, sounds like a good father son project. When you look at it from that point of view that 88 could be priceless. Hope you and your son have a lot of good times with it.
Congrats on the "buy"; next purchase should be the '88 FSM from HELM. Get the two volume "red" publication.
If it has the original console lid check under to see if it has RPO Z51 or Z52.
Good idea, I did look under the console and did not find an RPO code list. Is there another location where it might be or should I get the build sheet from the museum?

It is a good father/son project. We are already having fun just looking for any RPO code info and just inspecting and cleaning. Great to still be able to bond with your son, even when they are teenagers. He's 14-1/2 but a great kid.
