Anyone know how to decode the date code that is on the door glass. Thank You
Yes I believe I can! Post everything that is included on the glass at the rear lower corner! Everything!! What MY car are we talking about? A snapshot or a link to a snapshot if you've got a good one. I need to reconstruct my information but I should be able to do yours!
Thank You I will get you the information, but isnt there pretty much a standard for it meaning a letter and number code that can be easily converted to a month ,day and year of production. Something like A=January B=Feb. ect Thanks Again

It's not sequential and I'm reconstructing the information for the C4 builds '84 through end of production. It might be back here and posted this evening. I'm having difficulties recalling the "plant codes"! The rest is pretty much done!

I'm pretty comfortable with these and my '91 ZR-1 displays JJ-3, my '90 displays GG. I believe '90 and earlier will NOT display the plant ID but '91 + will. The plant ID is the # following the -! Codes later than builds should indicate "replacement"! These same codes should also do for windshields and most automotive glass.

I rushed downstairs and checked my glass. doors= AS-2, windshield=AS-1, rear hatch AS-1.....
the car is an '84. don't know which column the "A" fits in, sep or 1992.
any idea? and where does the "S" go? thanks!

There are automotive glass "safety codes" I believe AS1-13 that are based on impact tests, composition, light passage rating etc.
AS-1 "laminated glass windshields/rear vision"
AS-2 "laminated/tempered for doors & side glass"
The date code is generally to the right of the "TM" and a line or two lower.
