1986 wheel offset
What is the range of offsets I can use in the front and rear wheels for my 1986 Corvette coupe ???? HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "advertised" offset for a 9 1/2" wheel for an '86 MY was/is 38mm from most traditional C4 information sources. It's much easier when comparing wheels to use a "backspacing" dimension because it's much easier to measure and compare! Depending on the overall width of the wheel the "backspacing" of a 38mm offset should be 6 3/4" +/-. A 9 1/2" wheel is certainly the more popular for the C4 Corvette.
The later C4's '88+ use an advertised 56mm so simple math would indicate you need a spacer of the difference. Most round up from the 18mm (.709") to a 3/4" spacer. A comparison of "backspacing" for the two gives a very similar result!
