Default C3 Convertible questions

I have decided to sell off several of my projects and buy one c3convertible "driver" .
I did own a 72 vert I never should have sold so I do know the general stuff,
I guess my questions now actually might lean towards the purists,

What year were the most verts made?

What is generally the most popular year and which is the least popular year and why?

With the internet chances are the car I find will be out of state,
I do ask lots of questions and get good large pictures I have bought several cars out of state never seeing them until transported here, never gotten burnt,

Besides the basic Vette stuff what should I ask sellers and what should I look at on these cars?

Please keep in mind I am not after the perfect purists dream but rather a running driver that may need this or that,
I like custom so that is not an issue either,

Thanks for the help,
Cheers,
P.

I can not begin to answer your questions but can offer this, the C3 vert was one of the few Corvettes that increased in value during the past year according to Corvette Magazine. Son has a 71 he was about to sell way under market. Talked him into keeping it, for now anyway. Next week I am going to drive it from North Carolina to central Florida . Really looking forward to that.

Muffin,
I wont rain on your parade but FL might, my backyard is still under water with our daily showers,

Perhaps if you are going to be near down town Orlando and have a few free moments I could see your car for some motivation, wouldnt hurt to show my wife one that actually drives down the road,

Cheers,
P.

Hi Bats,

Don't know if you meant to post this in C4. You might get more help in the C3 section...

Good luck with your search. The steel bumper sharks are gorgeous.

Here's a good resource for production numbers.

No need to tell me about the rain. Had the 85 all shined up for a show/cruise in Rockledge last night. On a hunch I checked the weather, rain, gusty winds and HAIL. Stayed home. Son is a Marine being reassigned to Orlando. We can work something out.

Oops... no this should be in C3 I wonder if I can get a mod to move it for me,
I have both an 86 and a 76 going to sell them to get the c3 vert so I guess I was thinking what forum I was in when I posted this,

I agree the bumper cars are so beautiful, one of the few cars I admit I could leave stock, I have also noticed many in my price range still have chrome rear bumpers but have had the front clip changed where the "look" like a 73 model...I dont mind the body mods but that also points to the car being hit in the front so I want to be sure repairs were dont right.
