AN 84 with a c5 body kit on it. IMO I would like to do that, because I like the c5, and I like the clamshell hood, and how you feel in the cockpit of a c4 , so I guess a c4 vert with hardtop, and c5 bodykit would work well for ME.
seems to me if you wanted a C5 look to the point of buying the kit, painting it, buying the C5 wheels, etc. it would be much easier to sell the 84 and put the money on a C5 and get the LS1 power to boot, along w/suspension upgrades etc....but that's just me.....but I am guilty of throwing money at a C4 myself as you can see from my list of mods....so maybe just as guilty..
The amount of labor hours to produce this would be alot. Plus the body parts tp purchase. Then the paint job. He is only asking 5 grand. Sounds like someone is a big loser in this car. What happened to the original body? Maybe an accident? Plus its all show and no go. I would feel extreemly stupid next to a real C5. Can you imagine a heads up race at the dragstrip with a C5? Crossfire againt C5?
yeah it just seems silly to me like, if you want a c5, get a damn c5! i dunno but i suppose pologreen has a point that there may be reasons a "mut" would best suit all one's needs...
hmm. i almost hate to admit it, but i kind of like this. it looks like a shorter more aggressive c5. i agree it's not worth the money doing all of that to a c4 and then not having the suspension and power of a c5, but then again, i've put a lot of money into cars over the years that 'wasn't worth it'. so i guess i wouldn't do it. unless maybe i had a wrecked car that needed all new body work anyway, but i would consider buying one for the right price.
That's actually pretty cheap for the condintion it appears to be in. Looks like whoever did the work did a pretty good job on it. Hopefully for the seller it was a conversion that was done 5-6 years ago because the money they probably spent to do the conversion would get you a 97-99 High mileage C5 right now.
That probably cost more than 5K just do to the complete conversion. Definately be a conversation piece for a new owner.
I am usually on the "hater" side of the body kit equation and I expected to see a roach on that link, but I likey. That would be a great project, especially if you could get it cheaper. And no, after thousands of dollars and endless hours, it would be worth what they are asking now, but it would be a neat, fun car IMO.
Interesting! The same thread is in the C-5 forum. Over there it's almost unanimous "no way" and over here there's a lot of "I like it"....just sayin'....
corvette west has some pretty interesting stuff of their website for C4's in terms of appearance.
I think their ground effects kit is the "motorsports" kit that ecklers and CC sell, vette west has it for 725 compared to 1200 for CC and ecklers. nice.

yeah well of course i posted it there too - i don't know where the hell that car really belongs anyway!!!!!
they're saying no way beacuase it actually looks decent and they don't want a c4 to look as good as their c5. as a matter of fact, if you could get c5 performance and handling in that, i would almost say it would be nicer than a c5.
It looks OK from certain angles, but it seems a bit extreme to just get a C5 wannabee. I think it would just be cheaper to just go ahead and get a C5 than try to build one out of a C4.
If you hold down the shift on the keyboard when you type C4, you get C$! Maybe that's what they should call it. Everybody has their own thing I guess.
I'm in the "if you want a c5 just buy one" crowd. You'd get a way stiffer frame, more ponies under the hood, better handling and all for less money than the conversion.
