I took a few days off of work this week and decided to do a few Vette chores.
I did the Throttle Body Bypass, Cut out the Air filter lid, cleaned the Butterfly valves of build-up, upgraded the foglamps to 50-watt bulbs, and then let her run for 30 minutes, so I could sit inside and listen to the purr of that :chevy engine.
Now I cant'wait untill Spring arrives. :cry
Anyway, I thought I'd bore you with a few pics of the tour. (About 20 feet!)
Good lookin' ride! Too bad with all that white stuff. Come on down to Texas and there's no waiting till Spring. Just have to watch out for the tornadoes.
Re: Can't wait for Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Stingray1967)
I haven't stopped driving mine yet!
Actually, I haven't washed it since November
Still have the numbers from teh track on teh windshield, damn shoepolish!
Thanks for the compliments about the car guys. It is a very wierd color combo. It has a Montana Blue interior. It kind of grows on you after a year or two. I though about having it repainted gray or blue, but kept putting it off. Now I am going to keep it original. I now have 110,000 Kms/66,000Miles on it and I am wondering when the best time to upgrade is. At what point does it become more costly to repair, rather than trade for a newer one. I have looked at the current trend here, and I have noticed that the average prices have risen in the past two years. People are asking in the average of $12,000-$15,000 Canadian, for Vettes in the same vintage as mine. (1986)
That white stuff, is what keeps the mileage somewhat lower on our Northern cars. It's a PITA, but it makes us appreciate the warmer weather when it finally arrives!
I would love to move South to a much warmer climate, but it's so difficult to find a job, and move a family. We have talked about it and I went as far to apply for jobs in Fla and Texas, but nothing came from it, and now my kids (16 & 9) have rooted themselves here.
Mr Mojo, how come you can stll drive your car in NJ. Don't you guys get any snow there???
This afternoon, I was living the quintessential California experience-- tooling down the Pacific Coast Highway passing through Malibu, with the top down, sipping my cafe latte when I happened across three C5's taking a leisurely trip down the coast. It was obvious that they were not in any hurry to get anywhere. They all waved as I passed them by. A few short blocks later an immaculate C1 drove by and waved to me. It was a nice, sunny 75 degrees today in Malibu. What a great day for a drive. I feel for you.... I don't know if I could go that long without driving my Vette.
