The illegal way would be the Florida Turnpike. Might cost you a bit, but one of the State Troopers will give you a highly accurate radar reading in writing.

Got my LT4 up to 120 on the Interstate once but slowed down to 80 or so as my wallet was getting scared. There was lot of pedal left.
My advice to be safe and avoid fines is to find a Jigh Speed Driving Event near you. Check the South East Event section here on the Forum.
I too would like to find a legal arena for a top speed event in or near Sarasota County, FL. Any guesses where I'd be? 383 stroker, 500 HP/TQ, 3.73 rear, 5-speed TKO 600
From: Prather, California -1990 ZR-1 White/Flame Red- -SOLD!!-
I'd love to find a legal spot to find my top speed here in California. I've had my '93 6-speed coupe up to 150 and it a little more left. It's stock except for Hotcam, 1.6RR, LT4 springs, tune and slightly overbored. Has 3.45 rear gears.

I would also like to know where I could top mine out in Texas.
The Texas Mile they have twice a year in Goliad wouldn't be long enough to hit the full top speed in my bone stock LT1. Now, a 500hp HP car....it probably would be.
I wish I could find something with a longer (2+ miles) of straightaway. Some place other than WAYYYYY out in wext TX. That's too far.
Okay, 160 tonight, but got a little scary, road kill in my lane frightened me a bit, threw me off my path, then got a little wavy, not bad, but not fun either.
IBTL, its against forum rules to discuss street racing FYI.
