Could not find this in FSM, maybe I just stopped looking too soon. '92 coupe, how do I remove the "security shade" as the owners manual calls it, or cargo cover, whatever you call it? I didn't see any obvious screws to remove but I'm standing outside looking in almost upside down, bright sun so it looks dark under there - not ideal conditions. Thanks!
That's what I thought, and tried - same lack of results you had.
I'm putting that insulation kit in and it would be a whole lot easier to get everything fitting right if that darn thing was not there. I never use it - it I get it out I might not replace it.
Just keep at it, once you get it you'll be amazed at how easy it was to remove. May take you a while though as in my case
i think on the drivers side there is a spring loaded tab at the end. You need to play around with it with a flat head or small pry bar
I got it - found it in the FSM (Page 10-8-8). 'Use "appropriate tool" to compress....etc'. A screwdriver proved to be the appropriate tool, but it was a PITA - even after I got the shade out from the bracket, I had to keep compressing the end by hand so it did not hang up on other things. jon0108 is right, once you do it it's easy to understand, but most likely it won't be going back in. 93v, you had the right idea, try again.
